Loved the help and enthusiasm of the staff. The environment was so conducive to relaxing.

Quite a distance from everything else BUT that also helps with the relaxing and peaceful environment!!

We were thrilled with the way that the staff were so attentive, friendly and capable. They all spoke fairly good English (some better than others) because the owner provides 4 months of free English lessons in the off season. The ethos of the place is just wonderful, the staff really are a team. They behave like a family together and they welcome guests as if we were visitors to their own home. We were met at the airport and taken to meêt our friendly driver who happily stopped at a pharmacy in town so that I could get antibiotics. He then drove very carefully to the resort. One part òf the road is not sealed and it could be very bumpy and unsafe in the hands of a crazy driver, so we were glad to have a good one. The accomodation is stunning. There are many types òf bungalows and rốoms that vary in price and comfort. Ìf you want privacy from your neighbours then ensure you ask for a free standing bungalow. Some rooms share a verandah. Also some have a sea view and others are set back in garden. All are gorgeous though and the setting among the forest is just lovely. We were particularly taken by the novelty òf having an outdoor bathroom. It was lovely to shower and look out at a garden. The water is solar heated and so not particularly hot or high pressured, but this didn't bother us at all. There is a nighly turn down service where the staff come in and light a mosquito coil in your rôom and unfold the mosquito net around your bed so that you can sleep without getting bitten. The housekeeping staff were excellent in that they timed their visits by attending while you were at breakfast and dinner to service the room. This meant we were never inconvenienced. My partner and I were thểre for 48 hours (not enough!) and đidn't want to leave the resort, so we đidn't!

You should book in advance so that you get the room you desire. When I go back again, I will ask for a free standing bungalow just for the extra privacy. It was just a little bit awkward given that there is no sound-proofing in the bungalows to be quite so close to your neighbours. Also, given that it is an eco resort. You may have all manner òf guests in your room: butterflies, beetles and various other bugs. We loved our rôom mate on the first night, it was a large gecko who sat on the wall near the roof and ate flies and móquitos. On the second night, I was not so taken by the large hunstsman spider who crawled up the wall near my head. However, he quickly met his fate and we slept in peace.

It's the best place for couple and family who want to have a private and natural vacation. The hotel is far far away from the downtown(About 20 mins car drive). But there's a private beach in the hotel. And the housess are seperate at a good distance, so people won't feel interrupted by others. It's a good choice for vacation, since they have provided basic services and what you really need to do is having fund around the beach.

too much noise from the insects, bugs.

Refreshingly back to nature: No " resort" pool just I kilometer of pristine, private, beachfront, turquoise water, and your own private bungalow nestled in tropical vegetation. The restaurant and beach bar are practically in the water. I stayed 5 nights and didn't have the same food twice, all delicious. I had originally intended to go and check out the town but couldn't tear myself away from the resort. Large bungalows with verandah and funky outside bathrooms. Delightfully remote and private.

For some the place could be a bit too Robinson Crusoe. Could do with some minor repairs to paths and furniture.

that is really the best place I have seen in Vietnam! everything is very clean, very friendly staff, good food, directly on the beach. The perfect place to relax!

Quiet, eco friendly, beautiful beach, friendly staff, great food.

Beach could do with a quick clean up, but it's nothing major

We stayed at Mango Bay to celebrate my partner's birthday and did not want to leave. What an amazing hotel set on the beach with great food, drinks, massages, crystal clear warm water, gorgeous sunset...it goes on and on. We only wished we could stay longer and really take it all in.

It's a bumpy ride on the Phu Quoc roads to get to the hotel. Pot holes and muddy roads are the only way in and it's enough to make you feel nauseous, but it's well worth it once you arrive.

Great location, friendly helpful staff. Rooms reasonable value.

Food however is a let down. You're rather stuck in the place (it's 8km from town) and the food is mediocre (at best) and expensive. Such a shame, they should hire a local chef and the place would be paradise.

fabulous location in terms of beach/ nature. beautiful resort close to nature. great restaurant and bar- with friendly happy hour. great for kids.

lots and lots of mosquitoes. choose a sea view room or bungalow; ones in the forest can be quite dark and have even more mosquitoes. getting to town is quite a treck.

Staff was really helpful and wonderful. The food at the resort was superb and great value. Loved the beach and the water was clear. Rooms were good size and outdoor bathroom was amazing!

No AC in the room which can make it very hot at night. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Breakfast choice was limited to 5 different options which was ok but would have been nice to sample different foods.

Wonderful place, beautiful bungalows set in the middle of trees and wildlife, right by the beach. Blissful, romantic place with lovely staff - thoroughly recommend!

  • Couple
    7.8

Great place to relax and get away from everything: quiet, relaxing, great food, amazing beach, eco friendly, stylish

If you're staying for a longer period it can get quite pricey to eat in the hotel every day - prices are a lot higher than local restaurants but there is not much within walking distance of Mango Bay.

  • Couple

    - beautiful resort; quiet, clean, perfect for relaxing - bungalows with outside-bathroom wonderful and very very clean - directly at sea with 2 nice beaches and good swimming water - staff very friendly and helpful and they even switch on the lights in your bungalow when enjoying your diner so that you don't come home in the dark. Also mosquito-equipment turned on by them in your room! (and net above your bed closed) - good food in both restaurant and beach bar - wifi works everywhere

    - price for accomodation high. We had to pay $120 per night for bungalow (not the cheapest version but 1 step higher) with shared roof where we think $80 would be more of a reasonable price - food also expensive (especially for vietnamese standards) but of high quality. Still slightly cheaper compared with Europe.

Beautiful sunsets and beaches, great restaurant with fantastic views. Really special place.
